North Carolina Courage and Houston Dash squared off in the NWSL Fall Series for what became a a back-and-forth affair. Debinha scored twice as the Courage came from behind to win a high-scoring match. The Fall Series features all nine clubs divided into three regional “pods” and this match opens play for the South pod. The Houston Dash are coming off a successful Challenge Cup run where they were crowned champions in July. The team was without team captain Rachel Daly, who is out on loan with FA Women’s Super League club West Ham United FC. The North Carolina Courage, meanwhile, had several players unavailable due to player opt outs, including U.S women’s national team forward Crystal Dunn.
