Today’s word of the day is ‘hope’ because that’s what Opening Day is in MLB. It’s hope: winning the World Series, making the playoffs, winning today, not finishing in last place. It’s all hope. So You Wanna Talk To Samson! is special today. People wanted to know about some Opening Days I’ve been apart of. Let’s start with my first ever game… Montreal Expos. Next up is my first game with the then Florida Marlins. Can’t forget about the time we ran out of hot dogs during our home opener. Opening Day after winning the World Series was a surreal moment. Ah yes, 2012, the Marlins Park debut with Muhammad Ali. Does anyone remember the time the Marlins had a rain delay inside a stadium with a roof? I do. I’ll end today with my final home opener in 2017, the first one without Jose Fernandez, and what that meant to me. I did the same thing every Opening Day for 18 years… here’s what it was. #waittosee
