Meydan Racing published this video item, entitled “Trainer Patrick Wahl discusses SLIENT NIGHT in lead up to #DWCCarnival” – below is their description.
Patrick Wahl: “Silent Night is a good traveler, she travelled well, she lost a little bit of weight, but has taken it back very quick, so everything with the travel here went fine.
“She has been winning on the dirt, but not in very good company and she was struggling on dirt here as well, so we went back to grass and now she’s at her best.
“She has done very well over the summer back home. Of course it was an advantage for her to be here over the winter to prepare her. She won three races in a row, and won both Guineas in Norway and Sweden. So she has done very well.
“I would say 1600 or 1800m would be her best, at a good pace. At her best, she would do 1600m.
“That is the plan (to run her in the Cape Verdi) and we take it from there. Looking ahead, hopefully she will run well in the Cape Verdi, and then we might run her in the Balanchine. It all depends on how she runs. If not, we will have to look at some other ways, but that is the plan.
“Her form looks very well. Of course, she finished 2nd in the Meydan Classic which hopefully will bring us a little ahead. She is well prepared and we are very happy with everything.”
