Just as the first running of the Oaks in 1779 was won by the 12th Earl of Derby’s Bridget, the present Lord Derby, the 19th Earl, was in the Epsom winner’s enclosure after Ouija Board won the same race 225 years on,
And how good a win was this? She scored by seven lengths to give trainer Ed Dunlop a first British Classic and jockey Kieren Fallon a third Oaks victory.
Ouija Board went on to achieve top-level success all around the world during her glittering racecourse career.
