There’s National Hunt racing at Taunton and Towcester, a card of all weather flat racing at Chelmsford City and, across the Irish Sea, an afternoon of Irish National Hunt in Thurles on Thursday 24th November 2016.
At Thurles, the card looks like it might be dominated, as ever, by the powerful Elliot and Mullins yards, with short prices and nonetheless tricky puzzles featuring horses from those connections’ stables in several of the events. But Fortuno‘s Nap of the Day goes at Thurles, in the penultimate 3.10 event. Neddyvaughan had been running well until putting in a lacklustre performance at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago. A shorter trip today makes an interesting each way case under M P Walsh. An early price was nibbled in past 6/1 in to 11/2, showing the each-way value seekers agree.
The other three tips for the evening are at Chelmsford City, where an early evening card of all weather racing is set to take place. Secret Bird (4.25, 6/1), Ferocity (5.55, 4/1) and Rattle On (7.25, 9/4) make up the day’s four selections.
