UK & Irish Horse Racing Tips, Thursday 4 June 2015

There are six race meetings scheduled to take place on the afternoon and evening of Thursday 4th June 2015 in the UK and Ireland.

There will be turf flat racing in Scotland, at Hamilton, and England, at Lingfield Park (turf track) on the afternoon, as well as all weather flat racing at Wolverhampton.

In the evening, there will be a card of summer jumps at Ffos Las, and a mixed turf card across the Irish Sea at Tipperary, while an evening of all weather flat racing will take place at Kempton Park.

Best Four Bets

As ever, we’ve had our ratings expert run through the runners for the day – see all selections below – to arrive at four best bets for Thursday. Yesterday saw an 8/1 winner at Fontwell, Titch Strider, so The Global Herald selections are hitting some good form.

The first choice for the day runs in the evening, at Tipperary, in the 19:40 maiden hurdle event, Copy That. This JP McManus owned gelding showed promise on debut and looks to have found a good opportunity to get off the mark today. Expected odds are 5/2.

Also at Tipperary, in the 20:50 bumper, we fancy the Aiden O’Brian trained Tesseract to produce a strong performance on his third racecourse appearance. another JP McManus gelding, this horse looks to be a cut above the rest of this field, which perhaps explains the expected odds-on price of 10/11 in the early markets. This has a strong chance.

Our third choice for the day is another of the evening jumpers, at Ffos Las, in the 18:20 Handicap Chase, Steel Summit who has a little on this field, even carrying top weight, if he can produce a similar performance to his impressive Wincanton success last time out. That run was this gelding’s best ever on the clock, and a repeat would see him take this with a little in hand. Expected price of 9/2 reflects the occasional dud performance this horse has put in.

The only flat turf selection of the day goes in the 14:40 at Lingfield, where our ratings indicate that Justice Belle has a great opportunity to get off the mark in this maiden event. Expect this horse to start at odds on as there would need to be significant improvement from the rest of this field to trouble this filly who has to date consistently found only one too good on the last four starts. An easier chance today.
