UK & Irish Horse Racing Tips, Thursday 11 June 2015

There are forty two races scheduled to take place in the UK and Ireland on Thursday 11th June 2015.

In Britain, afternoon meetings at Newbury and Nottingham will see flat turf racing while a card of National Hunt racing will take place at Worcester. In the evening, there is to be flat racing on the turf at Haydock and across the Irish Sea at Leopardstown, while there will be an evening of summer jumps racing at Uttoxeter, too.

Best Four Bets

We’ve had The Global Herald horse racing ratings experts pore over the card for Thursday to arrive at the day’s Best Four Bets, and also, at the bottom of this page, selections for every one of Thursday’s races.

All of today’s best four bets run over the jumps, with two from Uttoxeter’s evening card, and two running at Worcester.

The first selection is Houndscourt which runs in the 19:40 at Uttoxeter. The form of this horse’s win last time out early in May at Sedgefield shows that this horse can win again under similar conditions. This will be the first time beyond 3 miles, and also the faster ground may be a question mark, though doubts exist about much of this field, suggesting a likely price of around 9/1 offers good each way value.

Also at Uttoxeter, in the 20:40, another value selection: Forget And Forgive. This horse has the ability to place in this event if running up to ability on first start under rules for new stable. A price of 12/1 makes this a reasonable each way gamble, though fitness must be taken on trust. This race is not deep, however, and this selection is good enough to win today if in good heart.

At Worcester, our next choice is Karl Marx which runs in the 17:25 handicap hurdle, at expected odds of 11/4. This horse is in great form of late and has a fair margin on the field on the clock – even with a recent 3lb rise in the weights. Looks to have found another good opportunity to add a “1” to the form.

Our final selection of the day is also at Worcester, where we choose Cut The Corner to lift the 15:50 handicap hurdle. This horse has performed admirably in better races over similar conditions and has found an easier opportunity to finish on top today. Expected to start favourite, at a price of around 5/2, this looks a solid win bet.
