UK & Irish Horse Racing Tips: Friday 13 January 2017

Three meetings in the UK and one in Ireland are on offer for racing fans on Friday 13th January 2017, after a scheduled afternoon meeting of National Hunt racing at Sedgefield succumbed to the cold snap biting Britain, and has been abandoned.

Meetings at Huntingdon (NH), Lingfield (AW) and Wolverhampton (AW) all go ahead, while the usual Friday evening flat all weather meeting takes place at Dundalk.

Fresh from tipping a 90/1 double on Thursday, with a winning Nap at 12/1 (from 18/1) and a winning Next Best at 6/1, Fortuno has selected seven horses for Friday’s racing for followers.

Nap of the Day for Friday is Fast Track which runs on the tapeta at Wolverhampton this evening, in the 7.15 for David Barron. Phil Makin will ride this horse who has been off the course for three months following a so-so turf season. Last year’s reappearance at this course saw a close second over 5f, and similar conditions today mean 5/1 is good value each-way to repeat go one better this time around. Has everything in the plus column today, if coming back better for the break.

Next Best is Dandysteps who ran really nicely over today’s course and trip to produce a fine third in November, before disappointing over a furlong further last time out. If we forgive that run, a price of 8/1 under today’s conditions make for a very attractive each way bet under the canny Rory Cleary. If today is a going day, should make the frame in this company, and wouldn’t need much luck in running to get a first win at the 15th attempt.

All of today’s tips are detailed below, with indicative morning prices, correct at the time of publication.
