UK Horse Racing Tips: Monday 9 January 2017

Three race meetings take place in the UK on Monday 9th January 2017, with a National Hunt meeting in Doncaster and two all weather flat meetings at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton.

Fortuno has been through the three cards to arrive at five selections for Monday’s racing.

Nap of the Day is the likely short priced Nicky Henderson charge, Hammersly Lake which is priced up at 6/5 for the 1.30 at Doncaster. This race is a 2m3f chase, and after acquitting himself well in better races than this of late, this fine hurdler can continue his progressive conversion to the larger obstacles with a win today under David Mullins.

Next Best for Monday is another who looks to be making a slight drop in class trying to find the winners’ enclosure: Mark Johnston sends La Vie En Rose to Wolverhampton for the 4.05 handicap under Joe Fanning. This filly was only just touched off last time out on handicap debut, after a progressive 2 year old season. This looks an easier opportunity for this well bred filly, who should be suited by today’s extended 1m1f trip. Has everything in her favour today, and looks on paper as though could only be beaten by an improver under today’s top weight. Early price is value at 11/4 against.

Today’s other selections are detailed below.
