UK Horse Racing Tips: Monday 5 December 2016

Only two courses have made it past the weather to put on cards on 5th December 2016, with all weather flat racing at Lingfield and a selection of National Hunt races on the West coast of Scotland, at Ayr.

The meeting which was due to take place at Ludlow has been abandoned.

Fortuno has marked a card of seven tips, as ever, hunting out each-way value across the day.

Nap of the Day is given as Lucinda Russell’s Forest Des Aigles, which runs in the 1.45 Chase Handicap event. This horse was off the track a long time, from 2015, but shaped pleasingly in a hurdle event at Carlisle which should have got the fitness levels up for this race. Looks well handicapped if fitness and jumping ability are as his French runs in 2015 suggested, and a price of 3/1 seems fair.

Next Best for Monday is Mark Johnston’s Beardwood which runs in the 1.55 at Lingfield under George Baker. This jockey / trainer combine really well, and Beardwood is on course to rack up a hat-trick after winning a similar event last time out over course and distance. Appeared in good form on that run suggesting a rise in the weights is not insurmountable, at a nice price of 9/2.
