Angus McNae crunches the numbers and analyses some of the very best performances from the past week, and from a Classic weekend at Newmarket from the three-day Qipco Guineas Festival.
Our presenter sings the praises of the first three home in the Qipco 2000 Guineas – Coroebus, Native Trail and Luxembourg – and takes a closer look at exciting finish to the Qipco 1000 Guineas won by Cachet for trainer George Boughey and owners Highclere Racing to complete a memorable Classic double over the two days for jockey Jamea Doyle.
The opening race of the meeting was won by Showcasing filly Dramatised for Karl Burke and Clipper Logistics and our man believes the juvenile is definite Royal Ascot material and could potentially prove something special, while we also look at some of the brilliant action from the Punchestown Festival and the performances of the wonderful Honeysuckle in the Paddy Power Irish Champion Hurdle, the exciting State Man up to Grade 1 company for the first time and tip-top juvenile Vauban.
