Now that’s how to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – NOLAND comes from the clouds under Ruby Walsh!

Racing TV published this video item, entitled “Now that’s how to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – NOLAND comes from the clouds under Ruby Walsh!” – below is their description.

An amazing conclusion to the opening race of the 2006 Cheltenham Festival with Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh combining for glory, getting the better of Straw Bear in a stirring finish.

Paul Nicholls, registering his 11th Festival victory, commented: “That was a great start to the week. His strong point is at the finish as he always finishes his races so strongly. Ruby has given him a superb ride. He’s given him time to get into his stride and hasn’t rushed him at all.”

Looking ahead to the future, Nicholls added: “He’s a chaser in the making and is not a Champion Hurdle horse. He will go over fences next year and will be an Arkle Horse.”

In the event connections had to wait another season as injury kept him from the track, but he returned – as Nicholls had said – to run in the Arkle Chase in 2008, finishing third behind Tidal Bay.
