Happy retirement, Annie Power!

One of the great mares, and a horse that truly encapsulated the thrilling highs and lows of National Hunt racing – the top-class Annie Power has been retired by trainer Willie Mullins and owners Rich and Susannah Ricci.

A winner in 15 of her 17 starts and a five-time Grade 1 winner – including the 2016 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, only the fourth mare in history to win the prize – Annie Power’s talent and charisma made her much-loved by jump racing fans.

From her first start in a bumper race for top Flat trainer Jim Bolger to her final, imperious start in the Aintree Hurdle, enjoy the life and times of Annie Power as we recall the moments that made a stellar career.

Enjoy retirement Annie – and good luck as a broodmare!
