English King burst onto the Derby picture with a breathtaking display in the Lingfield Derby Trial on June 5th, and now with the assistance of Frankie Dettori, is strongly fancied to deliver the goods at Epsom on July 4th. Ed Walker’s colt, by a Derby winner in Camelot, has his owner Bjorn Nielsen dreaming of glory at Epsom. Nielsen is no stranger to success on the big stage, with his great stayer Stradivarius only recently winning his third consecutive Gold Cup at Royal Ascot – but it’s safe to say that winning the Derby would be a very special moment for all involved.
