Champion Bumper hope? WESTERN DIEGO bolts up for Willie Mullins at Naas

Racing TV published this video item, entitled “Champion Bumper hope? WESTERN DIEGO bolts up for Willie Mullins at Naas” – below is their description.

Champion Bumper horse?

Western Diego makes all the running and doesn’t see another rival to score on rules debut at Naas and may have booked his Cheltenham Festival ticket for trainer Willie Mullins, jockey Patrick Mullins and owner Steve Parkin of Clipper Logistics.

A £125,000 purchase after winning an Irish point-to-point, comfortably justified 6-5 favouritism and Mullins was open to the idea of heading for the Festival in March.

Mullins added: “It’s nice for Steve Parkin (owner) who is more associated with the Flat. He did it well making all his own running which is a hard thing to do around here.

“That books his ticket to go across the water (for the Champion Bumper) if Steve wants to go, which I’m sure he will.

“He stays well, he’s by Westerner. He looks like a nice staying novice for next year.”

Western Diego is a best-priced 16/1 for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper, with stablemate Its For Me currently heading the market at 4/1.
