  • European Tour published this video item, entitled “The Fake Pundit | 2021 abrdn Scottish Open” – below is their description.

The European Tour presents The Fake Pundit.

Matt Wallace and Søren Kjeldsen joined forces with our ‘Fake Pundit’, Seán Burke, to put some of the abrdn Scottish Open field through the most excruciating ‘live’ pre-event media interviews of their careers.

Posing as a new presenter for ‘live’ Sky Sports News hits from The Renaissance Club, Seán subjected his victims to everything from whacky golf terms to technical mishaps to incredibly expansive questions and painful instructional segments.

Featuring the likes of Lee Westwood, Padraig Harrington, Collin Morikawa, Billy Horschel plus many more, some of the best golfers in the world were on the receiving end of his antics.

    Take it away Seán …

The European Tour’s Race to Dubai returns to Renaissance Club this week for the second Rolex Series event of the year – the abrdn Scottish Open. A star studded field are set to compete this week, but who will be crowned champion? World number one John Rahm is in the form of his life after capturing his first major at Torrey Pines last month. The two-time Irish Open winner grew up on the north coast of Spain so will be used to the coastal weather and winds that may come this week. Five-time European Tour winner Tommy Fleetwood showed enough in his T17th finish in Ireland last week to indicate his form is on the up. He lost to Aaron Rai in the play-off at Renaissance Club last year and will be aiming to go a step further as he looks to cement his place in the Ryder Cup team. Meanwhile, having won the World Golf Championships and finished inside the top 10 at two majors this year, Collin Morikawa will be hoping to bring his form to Scotland. Other notable contenders include Bernd Wiesberger, Richard Bland and Garrick Higgo.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the European Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood in events on the Race to Dubai. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

    In This Story: Ireland

Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George’s Channel.

Geopolitically, Ireland is divided between the Republic of Ireland (officially named Ireland), which covers five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. As of 2016, 4.8 million people live in the Republic of Ireland, and 1.8 million live in Northern Ireland.

The Irish climate is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and thus very moderate, and winters are milder than expected for such a northerly area, although summers are cooler than those in continental Europe. Rainfall and cloud cover are abundant.

A strong Irish culture exists, as expressed through Gaelic games, Irish music and the Irish language. The island’s culture shares many features with that of Great Britain, including the English language, and sports such as association football, rugby, horse racing, and golf.
