The 2010 Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix will start tomorrow with Sebastian Vettel at the head of affairs after the German Red Bull man raced away to claim pole position with a scorching lap time of 1:34.588.
Vettel will start ahead of teammate Mark Webber, who was 0.248 seconds behind in second place, himself 0.355 seconds in front of Fernando Alonso who places third for Ferrari.
The result means Red Bull are once again slightly ahead of the rest of the field – their lead man has more than half a second on the best of the rest after a commanding qualifying session saw the same two men on the front row in Australia.
This is the fourth pole position in a row for the Red Bull team who seem to be showing superior early season performance akin to that which Brawn managed in 2009. Is is looking likely that the 2010 Champion will be a Red Bull driver, unless the other teams can catch up the early development advantages that team is displaying at present.
If Vettel once again outraces his teammate, he will surely be a favourite for the 2010 crown.
The rest of the pack must hope to pass the one or both Red Bulls early, or they may not see them again in the Chinese GP 2010.
