Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber are looking like the most likely winners of this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix after both drivers posted fastest times in the opening practice sessions at Suzuka.

In both the first and second practices, Red Bull hit the top two fastest times, while Robert Kubica brought his Renault into third fastest position on both occasions ahead of tomorrow’s final practice and qualifying sessions.

After damaging his car in the opening session, Lewis Hamilton only made it out with around six minutes of Practice 2 remaining, and posted a 13th best time of 1m 33.481s.

Champion Jenson Button was the fastest McLaren in the second session, finishing sixth fastest, behind the Ferarri machines of Alonso and Massa who clocked 1m 32.362s and 1m 32.519s respectively.
