Inter Milan 0-1 Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich went one giant leap towards avenging their 2010 Champions League defeat at the hands of Inter by grabbing an injury time winner in the 91st minute through Gomez, which gave them a vital 1-0 away win.
Kraft, in the Bayern net, had to be sharp to keep out a number of Inter chances throughout the 90 minutes, however.
Marseille 0-0 Man Utd
Manchester United travelled to Marseille and played out a fairly uneventful 0-0 draw which saw few chances fall to either side. Nani was bright for United in the first half, getting the better of former Manchester player, Heinze, on a number of occassions, though neither team appeared willing to commit the players required to make a serious goal threat.
The match petered out to a 0-0 draw with neither goalkeeper having made what could be described as a difficult intervention, meaning the teams will square up for an Old Trafford showdown in the second leg with the scoreline at 0-0.
