What do football clubs do in the off-season? Go on holiday of course. Manchester United Football Club will undertake a summer tour of the USA over three weeks, courtesy of sponsors DHL.

Sir Alex Ferguson said of the trip:

“The team is really looking forward to going back to the US. The tour is great preparation for the season and the facilities over there are fantastic. I’m looking forward to some good football and the chance to meet our fans in the US.”

The logistics company DHL will provide a branded bus to transport the team to each venue.

The tour dates are as follows:

  • Wednesday 13th July 2011: Manchester United v New England Revolution, Gillette Stadium, Boston
  • Wednesday 20th July 2011: Manchester United v Seattle Sounders, Qwest Field, Seattle
  • Saturday 23rd July 2011: Manchester United v Chicago Fire, Soldier Field, Chicago
  • Wednesday 27th July 2011: Manchester United v MLS All Stars, Red Bull Arena, New Jersey
  • Saturday 30th July 2011: Manchester United v Barcelona, FedEx Field, Washington DC
