Football: spanish primera division fixtures, tuesday 20 september 2011 1There are three fixtures taking place in the Spanish Premera Division – La Liga – on the evening of Tuesday 20th September 2011, whith important games for all involved.

Osasuna, fresh from a humbling at the hands of Barcelona, have a home match against Sevilla, who are yet to lost in La Liga this season, having picked up two home wins and an away draw to date. Osasuna, who begin this match in 12th in the league, are just three points behind Sevilla who currently sit fifth in the table, so they’ll both be keen to avoid defeat.

Real Sociedad have an opportunity to move up the table this evening if they can overcome the visiting Granada CF. The two sides begin tonight’s match with Real Sociedad just one point ahead of Granada, on 4 points.

Villarreal will be looking to get their first win this evening, but may well have a difficult time doing so at home to Mallorca. Villarreal currently find them selves second from bottom in the table, on just one point, while Mallorca are only two points better, on three. This fixture seems to be an opportunity for one of these two sides to kick-start their faltering season, and get into the top half of the table they might expect to occupy come the season’s close.
