Football: Bristol City 0-3 Sheffield Wednesday, FA Cup 2011 Third Round

Bristol City 0-3 Sheffield Wednesday
  (HT 0-0) Teale 49
    Mellor 55
    Morrison 65

Sheffield Wednesday progressed to the FA Cup Fourth round for the first time in a decade courtesy of three second half goals away at Bristol City giving them a 3-0 win.

Despite Bristol City, who are a league above League One Wednesday, in the Championship, having the better of the possession, and more shots on target, it was the Sheffield side who opened the scoring on 49 minutes through a Gary Teale header.

Soon after, with the clock on 55 minutes, Neil Mellor added to the margin with another header. Mellor provided the pass which Clinton Morrison slotted home ten minutes later to put the result beyond doubt.

City will wonder how they managed to lose this match 3-0, though Wednesday were well worth their win with three well taken goals, to go into the hat for round four for the first time in ten years.
