10 Fastest Goals on Video

The Premier League also covered this in their official channel. Video is below, and also, a full list of the goals, too.

10) Asmir Begovic (13.64 seconds)

A goalkeeper on the scoresheet, and after only 13.64 seconds?! Yep. Begovic scored for Stoke Sity with a long ball that eluded everyone, wind assisted, and bounced into the Southampton net after mere moments of this Premier League match in

9) James Beattie (13.52 seconds)

James Beattie’s entry in the top ten fastest goals came against a very good Chelsea side in 2004/05 season, and is perhaps the best finish of the lot here, as he scored a volley from 25 yards.

8) Kevin Nolan (13.48 seconds)

Kevin Nolan makes the top ten EPL fastest strikes with a gooal he scored early in his career, for Bolton Wanderers, against Blackburn, in 2004. He powered into the box to smash home a cross from Kevin Davies in under 13.5 seconds.

7) Chris Sutton (12.94 seconds)

Chris Sutton briefly held the record for fastest goal in the Premier League, by slotting hoome a flick-on from Alan Shearer for Blackburn, against Everton, in April 1995. That was some Blackburn Rovers strike partnership, deadly from long balls, with both players good in the air and capable finishers, too.

6) Dwight Yorke (12.16 seconds)

Before he reached the peak of football at Man Utd, Dwight Yorke was an Aston Villa player, and it was while in the midlands, against rivals Coventry City, he bagged one oof the fastest goals in Premier League history, in September 1995 – at the time, the fastest goal scored in the Prem.

He achieved the feat heading home a cross from Ian Taylor.

5) Mark Viduka (11.9 seconds)

Leeds United got a swift early goal from Viduka in March 2001 against Charlton Athletic, when a long punt over the top was flicked on by Alan Smith to the tall Australian, who slotted home in just under 12 seconds from the off.

4) Christian Eriksen (10.54 seconds)

Before Christian Eriksen left Spurs for Inter Milan, he had time to net one of the fastest goals in EPL history in January 2018 against Manchester United. A solid team goal, Harry Kane knocked the ball down, and Dele Alli helped the ball to Eriksen who swept home in just over 10.5 seconds.

The goal was at Wembley, where, since Spurs moved out, it will maybe remain the fastest EPL goal scored at the ground… forever?

3) Alan Shearer (10.52 seconds)

Shearer’s fastest goal, was struck against Manchester City in January 2003. City keeper, Carlo Nash, slipped responding to a back-pass, and Shearer was on hand to finish for his beloved Newcastle United in just over ten and a half seconds.

2) Ledley King (9.82 seconds)

A central defender who, but for a serious knee issue curtailing his impressive career, Ledley King was one of the finest players to grace the turf… as a defender… so it was a little bit of a quirk that he also held the record for fastest goal for nearly 20 years!

King had the record after scoring from long range with a deflected strike against Bradford City in December 2000, for Tottenham.

1) Shane Long (7.69 seconds)

Shane Long scored his fastest ever Premier League goal for Southampton against Watford… and it came from a Watford kick-off. Oops!

Long closed down Craig Cathcart, blocked a clearance, before coolly chipping over the advancing Ben Foster to score a goal which was clocked at 7.69 seconds. This one will be hard to top for some time.
