Manchester United centre forward, Wayne Rooney, may play some part in this Saturday’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Wigan at Old Trafford after Sir Alex Ferguson revealed today that the striker is fit again.
Speaking to radio station, Key103, Ferguson said that, while Rooney would not start the match, he may get a position on the bench.
Speaking of next week’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Rangers, Ferguson was more confident – he said Rooney would “certainly play on Wednesday against Rangers.”
Wayne Rooney has not played since injuring his ankle on 19th October ahead of United’s Champions League clash with Turkish side Bursaspor.
Since that date, Rooney has u-turned on his announcement that he wished to leave the club, and signed a new enhanced contract.
Man Utd fans will be hoping that Rooney’s new contract helps him to grab the goals his team seem to desperately need.
