Football: Tottenham’s Tom Huddlestone out for 3 Months

Tottenham Hotspur will be without their talented midfielder Tom Huddlestone for up to three months after it was announced the England international is to undertake surgery on an injured ankle.

Regarding the injury, the Barclays Premier League club carried the following brief message:

Following consultation with several independent ankle specialists, it has been determined that Tom Huddlestone will undergo surgery on his right ankle.

The procedure is likely to rule the England international out of action for around three months.

The announcement means that Spurs will be without the player – one of their brighter lights this season – over the busy Christmas period.

The news means that Tottenham Hotspurs’ injury list continues to grow, as key players Ledley King, Michael Dawson, Jonathan Woodgate, Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Jamie O’Hara are already out of action.

Despite this lengthy list, Spurs find themselves looking likely to qualify for the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League, thanks to a magnificent 3-1 home victory over Inter Milan, and in 7th place in the Barclays Premier League, just three points off the Champions League fourth qualification spot they achieved last season.
