Liverpool F.C. have reached agreement in principle with Blackpool over the signing of midfielder Charlie Adam.
According to an announcement made on the club’s website on the afternoon of Wednesday 6th July 2011:
“Liverpool Football Club today announced they have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam.
The player will now travel to Merseyside for a medical and to discuss personal terms.”
Charlie Adam was a revelation for Blackpool in their ill-fated debut Barclays Premier League season in 2010/11. The 25 year old Scottish international captained the side, making 35 appearances and scoring 12 goals.
Prior to Blackpool, Adam was at SPL side Glasgow Rangers, where he gradually fell from favour before being loaned to Blackpool, in 2008/09, a move the clubs would make permanent at the end of that season. Adam has appeared 11 times for Scotland.
No transfer fee for Adam to Liverpool from Blackpool has yet been announced.
