He is one of the most prolific German strikers of all time: Mario Gomez made a total of 328 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart, Bayern and Wolfsburg. Three German league titles, two DFB Cups and a Champions League triumph in 2013 are among his collection of honours. With 170 goals scored in the Bundesliga, he’s definitely one of the best German strikers of recent years. After being relegated with VfB Stuttgart last season, Gomez had just one more target: to get straight back up with VfB. Gomez and the Swabians achieved that on the final matchday.
