Manchester United’s injury plagued striker, Michael Owen, looks set to miss more matches through a training ground injury to his hamstring, picked up during the recovery from a groin injury layoff.
Owen said:
“It’s not going great. I had a bit of a tight groin a while ago and I’ve trained for a week preparing for last night’s game but then I had a setback, unfortunately, because of a training ground injury I’m going to be out for the next few weeks, which is disappointing.”
The centre forward, who has been unable to play many back-to-back matches in recent years, was signed from Newcastle United on a free transfer by Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2009. Since then, Owen has not been able to establish himself a regular place in the Barclays Premier League side because of his ongoing injury troubles.
