This weekend Dortmund in Germany hosts the seventh edition of the FEI World Cup™ Vaulting Finals.
For the second year in a row the Westfallenhallen became the epicenter of the vaulting map as they world’s best athletes came forward to battle for the coveted title. Today saw the climax of the Female and Pas de Deux indoor season in a day that was full of drama, thrills and game-changing spills.
First up in the Women’s, Anna Cavallaro (ITA) channelled a wolf in a new routine to fight off tough competition from Kristina Boe (GER) to take her third World Cup title, Kristina Boe finished 2nd with Silvia Stopazzini (ITA) 3rd.
In the Pas de Deux category Silvia Stopazzini & Lorenzo Lupacchini (ITA) put on a masterful display of their ‘The Little Prince’ interpretation to secure first place. They electrified the crowd with an athletic routine featuring a movement that has never been done before in a Pas de Deux programme. Germany’s Theresa-Sophie Bresch & Torben Jacobs and Jolina Ossenberg-Engels and Timo Gerdes finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
