Ellerstina won the 2012 Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo, beating La Dolfina 10-7 in the final on 8th December 2012.
On Ellerstina’s team were a strong family side: the Pieres brothers; Facundo (10), Gonzalo (10) and Nicolas (9) as well as brother-in-law Aguerre (9). La Dolfina, meanwhile, were bolstered by a strong field including Cambiaso (10), Stirling (10), Mac Donough (10) and Nero (10).
After the match, the guests of sponsor, Royal Salute, were hosted by the Chairman and CEO of Chivas Brothers Christian Porta, with Patron JB Lee and the rest of the Korean polo team, England player Malcolm Borwick and His Grace Torquhill Ian Campbell 13th Duke of Argyll. The brand also named Facundo Pieres as the new global ambassador for the Scotch whisky.
