In recent years, Uzbekistan has experienced a surge in young boxing talent making waves in the sport. Topping the boxing medal table at the 2016 Olympics, Uzbekistan’s boxing team secured over half of the country’s total medals including 3 golds, making it their most successful ever campaign.
Emerging as a powerhouse in amateur boxing, Uzbekistan also topped the table at the 2019 Amateur World Championship, making a breakout on the pro scene inevitable. This is the story of three standouts – Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Israil Madrimov and Shakhram Giyasov – carving their path with Matchroom.
