Boxer Ricky Hatton has today confirmed that he will make a comeback in 2010, with “one last fight” against an unknown opponent in the summertime.

Hatton was knocked out in just two rounds fighting against Filipeno Manny Pacquiao in May, after which he announced his retirement from the sport.

However, this announcement has led to speculation over who Hatton might make his last fight against, with a rematch against Manny Pacquiao being touted by some, while Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico is considered a more likely opponent.

“I’ve decided to make a comeback and have another fight this year – probably round about the summertime.

No opponent has been confirmed… there’s been no date confirmed…

I am going to have one more fight.”

Any fight which does take place is likely to take place in the UK, with the City of Manchester Stadium in Hatton’s back yard a key venue for consideration.
