Since graduating from Cincinnati (Ohio) Mount Healthy high school, Bryan Cook has worked from under-the-radar prospect to NFL Draft pick.
Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Luke Fickell joined Dave Lapham In The Trenches presented by First Star Logistics to discuss the climb Cook has made from his two years at Howard University, where he played in 21 games with 93 tackles, 17 passes defended, five interceptions, and one returned for a 41-yard touchdown.
Before instant transfer portal rules, Cook would be forced to sit out the 13 games during the 2019 season before playing his first game for the Bearcats in the TickeSmarter Birmingham Bowl.
In his first entire season in Clifton, Cook would make two starts with a total of 26 tackles; by his final year, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound safety would break out of the shadows earning All-AAC First Team honors with 96 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and two interceptions with Coach Fickell feeling Cook has yet to play his best football.
