Australia Weather: Push notifications to help communities better prepare for severe weather events

Bureau of Meteorology published this video item, entitled “Push notifications to help communities better prepare for severe weather events” – below is their description.

The BOM Weather app offers push notifications for 6 weather warnings:

• tropical cyclone

• fire weather

• flood

• tsunami

• severe weather

• severe thunderstorm.

Once installed and enabled, a notification will appear on the device’s screen whenever a warning is issued that is relevant to the set location. Users can also select which type of notifications they would like to receive.

Importantly, this new feature will give our users the timely information they need to make informed decisions when it matters most.
