The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has predicted for Victorians in mountain areas on Saturday morning as the state experiences an unusual late-season cold outbreak.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting snow to low levels overnight. Wind gusts up to 70km/h – 80km/h are also considered likely, particularly about coastal and elevated areas.
Flood warnings have been issued for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume, Seven and Castle Creeks. Flood watches have been issued for Goulburn and Broken Basins, North East Victoria, Barwon, Moorabool, Leigh and Hovells Creek catchments and Otway Ranges.
The Great Ocean Road was closed between Wye River and Lorne owing to a landslip, but has since been re-opened. There was also a power cut in Melbourne leading to 11,000 being without electricity.
