Burger King has launched a new item on its US menu. Chicken tenders will hit American fast food outlets this week, supported by a major advertising campaign which includes the Facebook “Tender 8” application, allowing users to choose their 8 best friends. Those chosen will receive a coupon for Chicken Tenders.
The new chicken meal is accompanied by a range of dipping sauces: buffalo, barbecue, zesty, sweet and sour, honey mustard or ranch. The eight piece assortment will retail at just $1.99. Advertising aimed at children will feature the Chicken Tenders being launched by E.B., Easter Bunny, the lead character in Universal’s new animated movie, HOP.
Burger King operates more than 12,200 locations serving over 11 million customers every day in 76 territories worldwide. 90% of Burger King restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees. In October 2010, Burger King Corp. was purchased by 3G Capital, a multi-billion dollar, global investment firm focused on long-term value creation, with a particular emphasis on maximizing the potential of brands and businesses.
