Quarterfinals Day at the French Open 2013

Wednesday 5th June is quarterfinals day at the Roland Garros stadium where the world’s tennis stars are converged to claim the clay title.

Court Philippe Chatrier hosts the reigning champions this afternoon when Jelena Jankovic faces Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal plays Stanislas Wawrinka for places in the semi-finals.

At the Court Suzanne Lenglen Maria Kirilenko will play Victoria Azarenka and Novak Djokovic will play Tommy Haas.

The men’s singles competition at the French Open 2013 took a twist when Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Federer 7-5, 6-3, 6-3. It is nine years since Federer last failed to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam event.

Tsonga will now face the Spaniard, David Ferrer, in the first of the men’s singles semi-finals. The first of the women’s singles semi-finals has also been decided – Serena Williams will face Sara Errani of Italy.
