China is the most polluting country in the world and also the largest energy consumer. It’s precisely for this reason that the Asian giant plays a key role in meeting the Paris Agreement’s climate objectives. And in order to reach those objectives, decreasing its coal-based energy is fundamental.
However far from decreasing its dependence on coal, China continues to build new plants that are powered by this raw material. And that raises some questions: can China survive without coal?
