On January 17th 2011 in a meeting with the Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Cabinet of Saudi Arabia approved a prisoner transfer deal with India.
An extradition agreement and a transfer of sentenced persons agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India were signed in Riyadh on 28th February 2010 and have now become law.
There are over 4 million foreign workers in Saudi Arabia (ILO statistics 2009) and the International Labor Office has raised concerns in the past about the legal infrastructure available to non-citizens of the kingdom.
