Patricia Rader, outgoing Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development in Liberia, has said farewell to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf after spending two years in Monrovia.

USAID has been working with Liberia on Democracy & Governance, Economic Growth, Health and Education.

President Sirleaf met with Ms Rader at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday 9th May 2013 to say farewell, commenting:

“I want to thank you for the kind of efforts you put in getting things done here in Liberia. I know we could have gone much further, but the issues of capacity, ethical performance and integrity are challenges, and these are some things we’ll have to work on.”

Patricia Rader has served the US government as Mission Director in Kosovo and Macedonia, and as deputy mission director in Pakistan. Her overseas assignments have also included Tanzania.

Ms Rader has a master’s from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.; a master’s in international development from the Fletcher School, Tufts University in Boston; and a bachelor’s in English and political science from the University of Connecticut.
