Mar.13 — Mayor Bill de Blasio declared a state of emergency for New York City, saying the city would work with the state to enforce its decree against gatherings of more than 500 people to combat the new coronavirus outbreak. Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, he said the ban would likely be in force for “a number of months.”
