Harley Davidson is the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the United States and one of the most legendary and iconic brands in the American economy. And not just in the United States. According to the popular ranking made by the consultancy firm, Interbrands, on brand valuation, Harley Davidson’s remains one of the 100 most valuable brands in the world.

However, the last six years have been terrifying for their shareholders. In this time the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based company has seen its share price plummet by nearly 70%. Sales are declining, results are getting poorer and the level of financial leverage continues to increase.
