Let’s fix the news. Together.

China and India account for more than a third of the world’s population. That’s why it’s so worrying that these two titans get along so badly. In June this year, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a skirmish on the border with China. But none of this is new.

China and India have been embroiled in border disputes for decades. China is afraid that India will block its trade routes. To give you an idea, 80% of the oil that China imports come through the Malacca Strait. India could easily block these routes. And so China is making diplomatic agreements with all the countries around India: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and, above all, Pakistan: New Delhi’s greatest enemy. In this way, China is surrounding India with what could one day become military bases.

But are these two countries really willing to go head-to-head openly? Could we be facing World War III? Or will they reach a more civilized arrangement? In this VisualPolitik video, we will answer all these questions.
