London Fashion Week Feb 2011: Carlotta Actis Barone

Carlotta Actis Barone trained at the Carlo Sedoni Institute in Bologna, Italy, for a diploma in Pattern Cutting and Figure Drawing.  Moving to London in 2004, she enrolled at Central St Martin’s University and entering the Fashion Folio Foundation. Carlotta has contributed to Balmain and Moon Young Hee in France, as well as prints for Stella McCartney in April 2010.

Inspired by Inuit tribes from North America, Carlotta’s Winter 2011 collection was featured in London as part of the Fashion Mode show. Decidedly cosy, curvy and smooth with vintage touches and woolly lining, this comfortable, wearable and feminine collection is a staple addition to Winter wardrobes this year.

The make-up, hair and tights for this show give an Alice in Wonderland meets Vivienne Westwood feel, but the theatre for the show covers a thoughtful design process with clean silhouettes and traditional women’s tailoring.
