The Bocuse d’Or or World Cuisine Competition will take place in Lyon, France on 25-26 January 2011. The cuisine contest is one of the events at the Sirha international food exhibition.
The contest was launched in 1987 and was named after its founder, chef Paul Bocuse. It sees 24 chefs from 24 different countries compete to see who can prepare the best fish and meat dish for 14 guests in 5 hours and 35 minutes.
A delegation from Sweden will attend the competition as part of “Culinary Sweden” – an initiative to promote Swedish cuisine. H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip, the Minister for Trade Ewa Björling, the Minister for Rural Affairs Eskil Erlandsson and representatives of the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the Swedish Trade Council and Visit Sweden will all be present to watch Tommy Myllymäki represent his nation.
The Bocuse d’Or takes place at 09h00 – 17h00 in the Espace des Chefs, Hall Paul Bocuse, Eurexpo, Avenue Louis Blériot, 69680 Chassieu, France on Tuesday 25th – Wednesday 26th January 2011 with the Prize Ceremony taking place at 18h00 19h30 in the same place on the Wednesday.
