Fashion: Alexis Mabille Menswear Spring Summer 2011 in Paris

Alexis Mabille’s collection “Mirage” was presented at the Oratoire du Louvre on Thursday in Paris. Combining neutral desert colours with daisies and butterflies, Mabille created a troop of Greek Gods complete with sparkling cloaks and tiny silver briefs.

Shimmering under the stony gaze of the giant classical Church, the models had tousled hair and bronzed skin adorned with perfectly balanced hues of cream silk, tan and burnt gold. Shirt and trousers combinations smart enough for the local embassy were matched alongside casual shorts and macs. Zips and drawstring hems achieved a clean sporty look.

Mabille expertly balanced top flight wearable fashion with more fanciful elements such as a suit covered in daisies. The elements of nature and glitter made perfect sense in the context of the collection and cemented the designer’s rightful place within Haute Couture.
