Manchester City beat Portsmouth by one goal to nil to retain their 100% win record at the start of this season’s Barclays Permier League.
Emanuel Adabayor also kept a 100% record going: he has scored in each of Man City’s three games to date this term.
It took just half an hour for Adabeyor to open the scoring for City, heading home a Gareth Barry corner in the 30th minute.
City, despite enjoying most of the possession, failed to add to their tally, though Portsmouth rarely threatened to equalise.
Elsewhere today Everton and Aston Villa both recorded victories against Wigan and Fulham respectively.
