Non-Stop Flights Between Beijing and Texas Commence

Non-stop flights from Beijing to Houston, Texas, are now available as part of a monthly service from Air China. The service will deliver passengers between Beijing Capital International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker welcomed an Air China delegation on 11th July 2013 to mark the occasion, saying:

“Houston continues to enhance its position as a key global gateway and the arrival of Air China speaks volumes about the potential for even more growth in the future. The cultures and economies of Beijing and Houston continue to draw closer together than ever before and nonstop air service between the two cities will help both sides maximize the benefits associated with new partnerships and greater connectivity.”

Ms. Yinxiang Wang, Co-Chairwoman of Air China Limited; Ms. Erwen Xu, Chinese Consul General for Texas and seven U.S. southern states and Puerto Rico; and Yao Ming, former Houston Rockets star and now Houston’s Honorary Goodwill Ambassador, all flew in to George Bush Intercontinental Airport for the launch. As the plane landed it was greeted with a Texas water cannon salute and the pilots responded by waving Chinese and United States flags from the window.
