    With the debate raging over plans to lift the lockdown on June 21, today there was a landmark Covid moment – there have been no new coronavirus deaths for the first time since last March.

    The Health Secretary Matt Hancock said people in Britain would be “so glad” to hear the news, but warned “we haven’t beaten this virus yet”.

    In Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon was being cautious, large areas of the country were told restrictions won’t be eased yet because of a spike in cases.
