Youth activists protest against climate inaction at COP26

Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Youth activists protest against climate inaction at COP26” – below is their description.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has branded this year’s COP26 summit a “greenwash campaign” at the end of the first week of the UN talks to solve the environmental crisis.

She was addressing young protesters after they marched through central Glasgow, rallying against what they said was global leaders’ phlegmatic response to global warming.

Thunberg called for an immediate cut to carbons emissions and berated the event as a PR exercise.

Al Jazeera’s Andrew Simmons reports from Glasgow, Scotland.
